Ryden recognized at Written in Scarlet and Gray

Congratulations to Barbara (picture attached!), who was recognized for her book Celestial and Stellar Dynamics at "Written in Scarlet and Gray," the Faculty Author Showcase put on earlier this month by the University for those who published in 2025. In the picture, you’ll see two of her other books: Interstellar and Intergalactic Medium (with Rick Pogge) and Stellar Structure and Evolution (with Marc Pinsonneault), for which Barbara and Marc won the AAS Chambliss Award.

The inaugural Written in Scarlet and Gray: Faculty Author Showcase was dedicated to recognizing the intellectual contributions and creative achievements of our esteemed faculty. Taking place on April 16, the event highlighted a wide-range of Ohio State faculty who wrote or edited a book that was published in 2025. The event featured remarks from President Ravi Bellamkonda, Interim Provost Trevor Brown and Senior Vice Provost Patrick Louchouarn, recognizing this accomplishment.
