Kochanek Named Astronomy Fellow

The American Astronomical Society (AAS) has named Chris Kochanek, Ohio Eminent Scholar and a professor in the Department of Astronomy, as one of 23 AAS Fellows for 2026. Kochanek was honored for significantly advancing understanding of the universe through innovative research spanning tidal disruption of stars, gravitational lensing and its applications, galaxy evolution, the structure of quasar accretion flows, massive star evolution and black hole formation and time-domain astronomy.
