NASA’s Roman Space Telescope will conduct a vast High-Latitude Wide-Area Survey, mapping more than 5,000 square degrees of the sky with Hubble-quality imaging to study hundreds of millions of galaxies. This core survey will help scientists uncover the universe’s “dark side” by investigating dark matter and dark energy, tracking how cosmic structures evolve, and measuring the universe’s expansion through techniques such as gravitational lensing and spectroscopy.
