Title: Measuring Cosmic-Ray Air Showers at the South Pole

Abstract: The surface detector of IceCube Neutrino Observatory, IceTop, is sensitive to cosmic rays between PeV and EeV in energy, known to be a region of transition from galactic to extragalactic cosmic rays. The most energetic galactic sources of cosmic rays are not known. The enhancement of the surface detector with additional detectors like radio antennas and scintillator panels will improve the measurement of air showers. A new IceTop trigger with better sensitivity for inclined air showers can increase the coincident measurement with radio and IceTop tanks. With these improvements in the detector, we plan to improve the measurement of cosmic ray composition, which will be important in understanding the nature of their sources.
