NASA Apollo exhibit blasts off at The Works

David DeFelice, Community Relations Outreach director for NASA's Glenn Research Center, talks about how three astronauts were wedged into Apollo capsules during space missions. The Apollo exhibit opened Saturday at The Works.
NEWARK - NASA's "Apollo and the Next Giant Leap" exhibit at The Works was delayed by a month due to the government shutdown.

But timing is everything. As STEMfest (Science, Technology, Education and Math) is held Saturday and Sunday at The Works, the exhibit will open as a tribute to the Apollo space program, plus a look to the future in space. The extensive display will be housed in the art exhibit room, and will continue through March 30.

"We hope it inspires these STEMfest kids who come in, and everyone else," said David DeFelice, Community Relations Outreach director for NASA's John Glenn Research Center in Cleveland who set up the exhibit. "It's important to tell a new generation about Apollo. And the opportunity is there to go back to the moon, and even Mars."
