Studying Galaxy Formation and the Intergalactic Medium with Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Simulations: SPH Simulations of Galaxy Formation

  • Thursday December 11 through Saturday December 13, 2008

  • In a series of informal talks and extended discussions, we reviewed the status of many ongoing projects among the attendees and, more importantly, identified scientific and technical priorities for the next 1-2 years of work with the simulations. We concluded the meeting by developing a long list of current and planned paper-length projects, some of them currently "assigned" to members of the collaboration and many of them not. I anticipate that Ohio State graduate students will pick up some of these projects over the next year. The workshop was an enormously valuable scientific and organizational exercise for this large, multi-institution collaboration.

  • Organized by David Weinberg.
