Askaryan Radio Array Collaboration Meeting
organized by Dr. Amy Connolly
March 6 - 8, 2024
Location: Physics Research Building
ARA is the world-leading in-ice UHE neutrino radio array and Connolly is the PI. I have hosted several CCAPP workshops, including 1) a cosmic ray simulations workshop that led to unprecedented collaboration and agreement between simulations of different camps, 2) a workshop on reconstruction techniques in radio experiments, which led to an interdisciplinary collaborations, and 3) a workshop on genetic algorithms that spawned the GENETIS collaboration, which has grown to an interdisciplinary collaboration including many institutions.
This will be the first ARA Collaboration meeting since pre-pandemic and this is a crucial year as we are in the finalizing an analysis of 5 stations of data from all years of ARA’s runtime since 2011. Many in the field do not realize that ARA’s result is expected to be world-competitive, meaning that at least in an energy regime near 10^19 eV, where a flux of UHE neutrinos is expected, ARA’s reach will be best in the world.
The collaboration will also have an important discussion about the future of ARA going forward, which will be important to happen in person.
