Areas of Expertise

  • Interstellar medium
  • Star formation in galaxies
  • Radio, millimeter-wave, and infrared astronomy

Education

  • Ph.D. Astronomy, University of California, Berkeley, 2006

Prof. Leroy joined the Ohio State faculty in 2015. An observer, he uses multi-wavelength observations to understand the interstellar medium, star formation, feedback, and how these relate to the formation and evolution of galaxies. An expert in long-wavelength observations, Prof. Leroy is an active user of the new generation of major radio and mm-wave facilities like the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) and the Jansky Very Large Array (VLA).
