Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Faculty Research Initiative: John Beacom

John Beacom

Neutrinos — almost-massless subatomic particles — zip through matter all the time. John Beacom, the Henry L. Cox Professor of Physics and Astronomy as well as the director of CCAPP, researches neutrinos and how they interact with other forms of matter. From this, he can tell the temperature of the core of the sun and whether a nuclear reactor on Earth is functioning. He discusses this in the most recent OSU Faculty Research Initiative in the full story.
